Operator Knowledge – Safe Operation

This course is designed to provide operator knowledge in safe operation of skid-steer loaders. Topics covered include equipment & work-site inspections, applicable OSHA regulations, operator restraint devices, load handling & placement.

Classroom Instruction: 3 hours classroom instruction on skid steer loaders

  • Safe operation of skid steer loaders
  • Applicable OSHA regulations related to skid steer loaders
  • Mechanical, operator control description and operation of skid steer loaders
  • Pedestrian Safety related to skid steer loaders
  • Load handling & placement of material using skid steer loaders
  • Attachment applications and proper use with skid steer loaders
  • Proper safe shut-down and parking of skid steer loaders

Hands-On Training and Evaluation

  • ½ hour practical evaluation on skid steer loaders
  • Pre-shift inspection of skid steer loaders
  • Hands-on training & site specific evaluation of skid steer loader
  • Safe operating techniques and related maneuvers of skid steer loaders
  • Work site specific hazards while utilizing skid steer loaders
  • Shut-down and parking of skid steer loaders
